Synopsis: Lavinia has it all. A loving family (complete with adorable pet baby dragon). A place at university training to be a magical animal vet. And a part-time job at the enchanting Baby Dragon Cafe. The only thing she doesn’t have is her one true love: Theo.
Theo is the local baker and her best friend. On paper, they’re perfect: he’s funny, she’s witty. He’s sweet, and she’s a little salty. That’s why they’ve been friends for as long as they can remember. They’ve never been without one another – and it’s clear to everyone that they’re meant to be.
Everyone except Theo. Because when Lavinia finally makes her move, he pulls away.
Lavinia is devastated. Has this friendship gone up in smoke? Or will Theo finally realise that he wants them to be more than friends?
Miniature Review
The book is filled to the brim with cosy details from steaming mugs of spiced drinks, heavenly pastries, and lovingly crafted meals that will leave you craving all the food. This book isn’t just filled with mouthwatering food and cozy drinks, what truly shines is its emotional depth. Lavinia and Theo’s journey beautifully explores vulnerability, longing, and the risks of opening your heart to the one person who knows you best.
Lavinia’s world feels like the ultimate escape and a world I’d love to step into. She’s living her best life: training to be a magical vet (I’m not jealous of all the creature cuddles), working shifts at the enchanting Baby Dragon CafĂ©, and sharing a playful bond with her mischievous pet dragon. From the very first page, I wanted to trade places with her. Then we have Theo the local baker, her best friend, and perhaps something more.
Their dynamic is everything you want from a classic Hallmark-style romance: witty banter, deep-rooted care, and a tension so palpable you’ll find yourself rooting for them with every turn of the page. Call me a hypocrite, but while Hallmark movies aren’t my thing, I can devour endless books that use the very same tropes.
Whether you’re here for the adorable dragons, the mouth-watering food, or the swoon-worthy romance, this book has it all. Baby Dragon Bakery is a charming, heart warming read you won’t want to put down.
