Worlds Apart Series by Melissa Barker-Simpson Book Spotlight

Hello Readers,

When an author reaches out about the next book in their series, it’s always exciting—but it’s even more thrilling when the series is entirely new to you. Melissa Barker-Simpson recently reached out to me about the second book in her Worlds Apart series, and naturally, the first book has now been added to my TBR. Though I haven’t yet dived into either book from the Worlds Apart series, I’m eager to explore this world.

Synopsis:
At the moment of Audrey Montgomery’s birth a new world came into existence. It is a barren place, a catalyst for the darkness spreading through the multidimensional system. The shift in power makes Audrey an invaluable pawn in a war between those who want to protect her and those who will go to extraordinary lengths to eliminate her.

As a result, she has spent her life on the run, unaware of her true origins. When her father dies and leaves her with a shocking legacy, her life is irrevocably changed. If she has any hope of surviving, Audrey must embrace her new reality and trust a man who is as dark and uncertain as the future itself.
Lieutenant Keith Delany, an Interdimensional Officer of the Law (IDOL), is tasked with bringing her in.

It is an assignment his entire team is invested in, having spent years searching for her. As a senior member of the squad, Keith is charged with protecting her, with showing her the truth about her past, and with preparing her for an unknown future. As an IDOL he is responsible for every life, for every traveller who navigates the system. But his connection to Audrey is unprecedented, and he soon discovers she alone holds the power to prevent the continuum’s collapse.

When Saffron Jenkins, a gifted Outlander, begins experiencing disturbing mental intrusions, it soon becomes clear she’s being hunted—not in the physical world, but through Borrowing, a dangerous process that allows a killer to slip into her mind.

Revealing just enough to torment her, but never enough to be caught, the predator plays a chilling game of cat and mouse. As the connection deepens, Saffron must work with Audrey, Hunter—Audrey’s second-in-command—and her own underground network to unravel a conspiracy that threatens not only her sanity, but the safety of the entire Continuum.
