Scared Sexy Collection Part One

Hello Readers,
It looks like we’re having a spooky, spicy kind of week and what better way to celebrate than with a dose of paranormal romance? Since this collection holds six delightfully dark tales, I’ll be splitting the mini reviews  into two parts so the post doesn’t run too long. Best of all, they’re all available on Kindle Unlimited and come with a audiobook version when you borrow them. This post isn't sponsored just sharing the love.

Hot for Slayer by Ali Hazelwood

Hot for Slayer is the perfect paranormal romance novella to pick up when you’re craving something quick, fun, and irresistibly entertaining. This short story delivers all the tropes as its got vampires, vampire slayers, and plenty of witty banter. The amnesia twist had me laughing and all the small, moments like cooking disasters and late-night sudoku were adorable and heartfelt.

The worldbuilding is light, keeping the focus on the sizzling chemistry while still giving glimpses of their past fights and shared history. Despite its short length, the story delivers real character growth and vulnerability as two lonely people find connection. The spice is perfectly placed and not overwhelming, but enough to satisfy romance readers. Even though I wished it were longer, Hot for Slayer proves Ali Hazelwood can pack character depth, slow-burn tension, and paranormal fun into just 90 pages.

Falling by Christina Lauren

Falling is a 56-page paranormal romance novella that proves you don’t need a full-length novel to deliver big emotions. Set on Halloween night, the story follows Cat and Brigand, a fallen angel cursed to feed on human happiness. At a Halloween party, Brigand’s powers of compulsion fail on Cat, leaving her free will intact and sparking a connection that feels fated. Could she be the one to break his curse?

The concept of a fallen angel searching for his wife’s reincarnated soul is both dreamy and bittersweet, blending romance, tension, and just enough spice to keep things sizzling. The chemistry between Cat and Brigand feels inevitable, pulling you in from their very first meeting. Despite its short length, the story is immersive, emotional, and perfect for Halloween vibes.

Spicy Little Curses by J.T. Geissinger

Spicy Little Curses is a fast-paced, addictive 90-page paranormal romance that hooked me from the very first chapter. Petra, a sceptical journalist searching for a Halloween story, crosses paths with Dax, a mysterious tattoo artist in the French Quarter whose family is plagued by a deadly curse: any woman who falls in love with a man of his bloodline is doomed to die.

The more Petra uncovers about his dark secrets, the harder it becomes to resist him despite the danger.
The chemistry between Petra and Dax is electric, with witty banter, sizzling attraction, and just the right amount of spooky tension. I listened to this novella on audio, and the narrators brought the story to life, making the atmosphere even more chilling and sensual.

Equal parts eerie, romantic, and thrilling, Spicy Little Curses is a perfect paranormal romance novella for Halloween and I would devour a fill book of their story.

Stay Spooky
