The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating by Tiffany Hunt (Gifted/AD)

Hello Readers,
Thank you, NetGalley and Scarlett Press UK for the copy of The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating. I received a complimentary eBook in exchange for an honest review. I hit bit of a reading slump at the end of last year and I am catching up on books I missed the publication days for.

Before we get into this review it’s worth noting that this is a spicy fantasy romance, but spice levels are always subjective, and this review focuses more on the story, characters, and overall reading experience. What  really shines thought out this book is the connection between the leads the tension, the banter, and the slow shift in their relationship.

If you’re looking for a dark fantasy romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously while still delivering swoon worthy moments, this book absolutely delivers. With its tropes of kidnapped bride, forced marriage, and a Dark Lord who’s far less in control than he’d like. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a heavy fantasy with the mention of a Dark Lord this whimsical romantasy delivers a wildly entertaining blend of humour, heart, and irresistible chemistry.

The writing style is engaging, striking that perfect balance between laugh out loud comedy and genuine emotional depth. One moment you’re grinning at the sharp, chaotic banter, and the next you’re completely invested in the characters and their journey. It’s this tonal blend that really makes the story stand out.

Arabella, the female main character, is an absolute standout. She’s fierce, clever, and refuses to play the role anyone tries to force on her. Watching her go toe-to-toe with Kazimir the so-called terrifying Dark Lord is easily one of the book’s biggest highlights. Their dynamic is electric and equal parts tension, wit, and reluctant admiration. Fans of enemies to lover’s romance will find love this.

Kazimir himself is a brilliant mix of menace and chaos. While he tries to maintain his villainous reputation, there’s an underlying softness that makes him incredibly compelling. The push and pull between his dark ambitions and growing feelings adds depth without losing the story’s playful edge.

The world building leans into whimsy in the best way magical chaos, eccentric details, and a setting that feels vibrant and imaginative. If you love romantasy books with humour, strong heroines, and morally grey love interests, this is a must read.

Overall, this is one of those rare books that feels genuinely fun while still delivering emotional payoff. If you’re craving a dark romance fantasy with personality, charm, and unforgettable characters read The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating.
