My Auto-buy Authors with Books Coming Out in 2023

Hello Readers,

I hope the year has started well. There are so many good books this year I think this is the first year since I started blogging that I have had so many lists sorry, I’m just so excited. I am using poster images I have found through google I do not own any rights and am using the image purely for review purposes (Fair use under the copyright act sections 29 and 30 under use for a review).

Murder On a School Night by Kate Weston

Since I read Diary of a Confused Feminist, I became obsessed with Kate’s writing style, and I love how her books are like talking with a friend. Both books by Kate I have read so far have such a feel-good vibe. I hope Murder on a School Night has the same wit as quoted directly from Goodreads the book is a “murder mystery-rom-com” like come on how can you not want to read a book that says, “a string of classmate deaths by menstrual cup and sanitary pad sets amateur sleuth Kerry hot on the trail of a menstrual murderer.” Gimmie!! Expected publication July 4, 2023.

Yours From the Tower by Sally Nicholls

At the risk of sounding like a creepy stalker I have been keeping an eye on Sally’s books since I saw Things a Bright Girl Can Do being promoted at YALC back in 2016/17. One thing I loved about Things a Bright Girl Can Do is how Sally didn’t evade the tough subjects like socialism, suffrage, and internationalism vs the war effort. What appeals to me about Yours from the Tower other than I adore Sally's writing well dear reader. The book is set in 1896 and focus on three young women Tirzah, Louisa and Polly best friends who have left boarding school and gone back to very different lives. In a series of letters, they share their hopes, their frustrations, their dramas and their romances. Can these three very different young women find happiness? Expected publication September 7, 2023.

How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix

Grady is one of my favourite horror authors again another Author I was introduced to at YALC by the wonderful Jamie. I loved both My Best Friends Exorcism and The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. Both books are wonderfully dark and where wonderful to read. How can you not want to read a book that sells itself saying “They need to get the house on the market as soon as possible because they need the money. Yet before her parents died, they taped newspaper over the mirrors and nailed shut the attic door.” How can you not want to delve in headfirst and know what’s going on. Expected publication January 14, 2023.

The Shadow Cabinet (HMRC Book 2) by Juno Dawson

If you know me, it’s no surprise for me to tell you I am a huge Juno Dawson fangirl to a point of where I have had to get a friend to get my book signed at YALC because I was too busy fangirling. I loves Her Majesty’s Royal Coven (HMRC) and I can’t wait to get my hand on book two in the series. Without spoilers a little sneak peek “a group of childhood friends and witches must choose between what is right and what is easy if they have any hope of keeping their coven--and their world--from tearing apart forever.”. Expected publication June 6, 2023.
