Hello Readers,
Thank you, Danielle, at PoetryBooksYA for the tag. An Original tag that plays off the wedding phrase: “Something Old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”

Rules:
1. Answer the prompts.
2. Tag some friends.
3. Link back to this post, and be sure to mention the creator (Sam @ Fictionally Sam)
4. Have fun!

Something Old – What is the oldest book on your shelves?
I have Mother Gooses Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe box set but I think it has to be my copy of the butterfly lion. Bertie rescues an orphaned white lion cub from the African veld. They are inseparable until Bertie is sent to boarding school far away in England and the lion is sold to a circus. Bertie swears that one day they will see one another again, but it is the butterfly lion which ensures that their friendship will never be forgotten. Its honestly such a cute and lovely story and still one of my go-to reads.

Something New – Your last book/bookish purchased/received
I finally got my hands on Austenland and I can’t wait to read it. I’ll be honest I saw the film first and I love an Austen retelling.  I can't help but recommend it. Jane is a young New York woman who can never seem to find the right man because she is obsessed with Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. When a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-obsessed women, Is this total immersion in a fake Austenland enough to make Jane kick the Austen obsession for good?

Something Borrowed – A character you’d borrow for the day
Okay so this is really hard cause I have two people well one is a person and one is a group of people. I would love to spend the day with Alyx or Winter from Pixie Britton’s Kill or Cure series (reviews here Kill orCure and Kill or Cure: Bloodlust and Kill or Cure: Oblivion). They are both pretty chill and I would like to think we would get on. The group I would love to meet is the Nerd Herd from The House of Night series by P. C. and KristinCast yes its been years yes I still want to join the Nerd Herd.

Something Blue – A Book with the word “blue” in the title
I don’t have a book with the name blue in the title but I have a blue book so it counts right.  My blue books is Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales. If like me you were raised on GREASE you are going to be hit right in the nostalgia feels as the story is recognisable (also if you’ve not seen GREASE spoilers and if not go watch it). This book drew on the overall concept of Grease and some scenes and characters are reminiscent of the original but this is still its own story, it is like seeing an old friend.
